Pedal Revolution Sub 24hr Bike Camp Out! a few of us loaded up our bikes with sleeping bags and some extra clothes and headed out after work on Sunday bound for the Haypress Campground in Marin for a sub24 hour bike camp out, otherwise known as an s240. Since we were just out for the night and would be heading back to the city early to be at work on Monday we just brought the necessities, sleeping bags, some brought tents, a light jacket, gloves, a headlamp, and of course….a burrito for dinner. The Haypress camp is at the end of Tennessee Valley Road off of the Marin bike path. Its about a 15 mile ride from the shop. An easy ride to do and still have a few hours of daylight to spare. Pedal Rev intern supervisor Angela joined us on the trip for her first ride across the Golden Gate Bridge as well as her first bike camping trip.
Pedal Revolution New Bike Update 7-30-13:
Saffron Yellow Mixte. This is a custom build on an Origin 8 step through frame. We had the frame powdercoated Saffron Yellow with sparkles. It look great in the sunshine. Built up to be the perfect everyday bike. Just enough gears for San Francisco streets and hills but not overkill. Room for fenders. Throw a rack or basket on it for carrying stuff or hitting up the market. A lovely color on this one of a kind original.
Pedal Revolution Used Bike Update 7/30/13:
Palo Alto Lugged Steel Road Bike.
This frame is from the era when Palo Alto bike shop was having frames build both by Tom Ritchey and overseas by different italian builders (Colnago and De Rosa being two). I know Tom built their mountain bike frames but am not sure if he did their road bikes too. This was their sport road racing model. Great chromed lug work. Quick geometry. But still many characteristics of the earlier era road bikes that we love; Big tire clearance, pump peg etc.
56cm – $950
Pedal Revolution Used Bike Update 7/26/13:
Bianchi Sport SS. Great refurbished lugged steel city bike. A little too goth of a color scheme for some but for those that can handle back in black, you won’t find a sweeter ride.
This one is LARGE! Sized for a long legged individual of discerning taste. The 58cm top tube favors a shorter torso so it doesn’t ride quite at big as it looks.
64cm seat tube/58cm top tube.
We have a number of really great refurbished bikes going out on the floor over the next few days at all price levels. Keep an eye out for the rare but much desirable used touring bikes in the works as well. Get em’ before they’re gone!
Great Used Bikes and Talented Interns at Pedal Revolution! We’ve received some really nice bike frame donations this week and have been hard at it, working with our interns to turn them into awesome used bikes for sale. We have about a half dozen different sizes, price ranges and styles of refurbished bikes on the floor right now. Don’t wait to check them out because with the used bikes, each one is a one of a kind creation and when they’re gone, they’re gone.
Pedal Rev has some fantastic interns right now and we’ve working with them to get this most recent batch of used bike donations refurbished and into shape. Here are a few photos of interns Daniel and Esteban installing Headset, bottom bracket, cranks on a beautiful older Bianchi frame that be available for sale this weekend. Super proud of these guys and all the skills they’ve learned!
